What to do with FREE items!

This item was my first ever DI(kind of)Y project! My dear friend (and client) Andrea has a lot of experience with revamping a piece of (excuse my language) crap item. She had this old TV stand dresser thingy laying around. It was in BAD condition and when she asked if I wanted it, I thought she was joking! The only place this belongs is in the garbage! But with an open mind (and a pretty empty wallet) I decided to take my chances.

Step 1. Sand the crap out of the entire dresser (and even more on the top of it)

Step 2: removing the bottom piece of wood, permanently to give the dresser a less bulky feel

Step 3: I used a sample size white chalk paint from home depot by Americana Decor- I believe when I purchased it for the project they said it would be discontinued.

*Painted the entire dresser with 2 coats of the chalky white paint

Step 4: After vigorously sanding the top part of the dresser, I was able to stain it in a dark wood stain

And Voila! My first ever project. It was simple, only took an afternoon, and got me hooked!!!
